About Tangier Shrine

​​Formally chartered on June 23, 1890, Tangier Shrine is open to men of integrity from all walks of life. Our mission is to support the children of our community who can benefit from the unique and specialized care offered through the Shriners Children's Healthcare Network.

Tangier Shrine Center is located near the intersection of south 84th and Center Streets in Omaha. Our current membership includes close to 1,500 Nobles with the wholehearted support of spouses who add to our success.

Tangier's Nobles and Ladies support the Omaha community and surrounding areas by transporting patients and their families to Shriner Children's hospitals and providing any other help that patients may need.
 

Tangier Shrine offers 40 active Units and Clubs to join, each with its own unique purpose, some focused on service and others centered around fun and fellowship.​​

Fundraising is a major need for all Shrine Centers and Tangier is no exception. We host an annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Feed in March and a Spaghetti Feed in the fall serving over 2,400 meals per event. Our Feztival of Trees in November attracts over 13,000 people and is one of our largest fundraisers.

Tangier is a very active Shrine Center with activities scheduled six days a week. Our Lounge is open noon to late evening and our office staff is available from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. In addition to our own activities, we rent meeting and event spaces to the public for receptions, corporate meetings, public organizations, etc.​
